Inspired by one of the MM Mummies, I decided to use my remaining puff pastry to do this Home-made Tuna Puff. This dish took only 10 mins to prepare and 20 minutes to cook (:
Home-made Tuna Puff Recipe
2/3 slice of Puff Pastry (I used Pampas)
2 tbsp of canned tuna
1 egg for egg wash
Bring the puff pastry out from the freezer and let it rest in room temp for 3 mins or so.
Then, cut 2/3 of a slice and place the rest back in the freezer.
Of the cut slice, cut another 2/3 of it for the base and set aside the other 1/3 for the top.
Grease the pan of the oven that's preheated to 190 degree Celsius.
I used a stick of butter to grease the pan (:
Tuck a border of 1-2 cm from the sides to form the 'wall' of the puff.
1/4 onion! I used the large onions. (: Sweeter taste!
Place the onions in a bowl and dump 2 tbsp of the tuna into the bowl.
Scoop the mixture into the 'well'.
Slice the remaining puff pastry and pile it on the top of the mixture.
Prepare the egg wash. I was left with quite a lot of egg so I broke another egg and did a scrambled egg with it!
Shower the skin of the puff pastry with egg wash.
Pop it into the oven and bake for 20 minutes or till surface of puff is golden brown.
Enjoy it warm!
