Day 12: of painting checks

We're down to Day 12 of our renovation journey. Most of the work is really slowed down cos it's been completed.. We're pretty much waiting for our carpentry to be fitted in order for the rest of the items to be put up.. Then we'll be ready to move in! (:

After not dropping in for a couple of days, I finally did so today.. I checked the unit for areas that might need touching up... Lionel and Richie then popped by to check out the minor defects that needed touching up. I found a number of areas that needed some touch-up.

Minor dent in the service yard's wall.

Unevenness in the divider between the kitchen and service yard..

We'll be painting these pipes black! (:

I wanted to box these up but the location and thickness of the pipes would make it so narrow for my washing machine so we decided against it..

The dividers really look quite bad..

Our kitchen bases are constructed and ready for the carpentry! We had nippon paints for our unit..

The longer side of the kitchen...

The shorter side with the tall unit and my fav pull out table! We had issues with it today.. but I'm glad my IDs managed to improvise the design! (:

I LOVE the kitchen so very much. The orange service yard is like the end of a rainbow, so merry! (: The windows will go up towards the end..

This is our dining hall wall, which we had painted in a dark gray..

The wall behind our sofa is also painted dark gray.. This is where our red sofa will be along with our huge black and white picture.

Our flexi tap is such a beauty!

And so is the basin! It's as huge as I'd like it to be and it's amazing! (: We got ours from Lite Fusion.

This is the dining hall that's next to the main door.

Little defect left by the BSC. Our guys will mend it..

The wall between the sofa wall and the corridor wasn't painted straight enough so it's gonna be touched up too..

Same for the aircon area in the MBR.

Our living hall bedroom! Our TV feature wall will be on the right! (:

Our pelmet wall in the study (: It had quite a number of rough bumpy surfaces though..

Little bumps..

To construct the pelmet bookshelf, we had the skirting tore out. Seriously, HDB's standard of gluing a skirting is HORRENDOUS.

Love our view! (: The estate is finally coming together!

The long wall in the MBR for our full shelf! (:

The MBR.

The wall where our bed and wardrobe are going to be (:

2 colours!

The wall with the air-con!

The light switches that need some touching up.

And this wall that totally shows how HDB gives us terribly uneven pre-fab walls.

Some little corners in the MBR under our air con trunking that needs some touching up.

Our blinds from Spotlight! (:

So these little defects would be rectified and our chemical cleaning to be carried out soon.. Can't wait for our carpentry to be ready! (:

Makeup from Zalora!

If you know me, you'd know that I love colours... and that I love falsies! But falsies alone is insufficient.. I've found a great place to get makeup products for women at Zalora! As you know.. I teach and truly, I barely have time to bake or rest, let alone do physical shopping! Hence, online shopping is one way I get my loot! (Like my book stash a few weeks back!)

Falsies are awesome in opening up one's eyes but it just isn't enough.. Colours are so important too..
I'm totally eyeing this beautiful Sephora medium palette set from Zalora that consists of 33 eye shadows, 12 glosses and 3 liners! Imagine all the looks I can get!!!!!

Not to mention that the colours are so pretty. Like so so so so pretty! I'm totally adding this to my shopping cart and check it out when I settle down at our new place! (:

The colours in it would totally make any outfit rock...

And make my eyes pretty...

And even prettier!

Also, I think it's time I stock up on some other makeup products too.. After all, concealer and blusher is just my lazy way of dolling up lately! I should get my foundation.. loose powder, primer, eyeliner and all real soon and I think Zalora is awesome for me! How about you? (:

Day 10 of reno: of painted walls

Today's Day 10 of our reno journey and we're about 1/3 through our renovation! Works has been quite quiet in the recent few days for those that needed to be completed were completed ahead of time.

Richie sent me an update of our unit's paintwork today. Am thrilled to see colour in the service yard!
It sure is fun to have splashes of colour in the house! The service yard's colour will complement that of the kitchen.

So in love with it! (: The divider does seem a little uneven though.. So more work will be done on it to perfect it..

In the living hall and dining hall, lily white was used to make the place look bigger and brighter..

The two walls on this side closer to the corridor (dining hall wall and sofa wall) were painted in a dark shade of gray!

It's that very dark grey.. second column third row (:

The same dark grey was used for our bedroom walls with the exception of the wall having our bed's headboard being slightly lighter in gray (colour above dark gray in the chart)..

This wall with the headboard is lighter in colour!

This is the study with Clear Water (: The skirting is painted black throughout the entire house! (:

This is getting exciting... even though the next few days would be quiet again as carpentry is being completed and pretty much only carpentry measurement is being taken..

Nevertheless, it still excites me a lot that we're moving in at the end of the month! (: It's a love-hate relationship though.. I'd love to move in.. but I'd hate to move out of my mil's. I really love the company, the joy of having everyone around.. I'm sure it'll be upsetting living alone with the hubby only. ): Nevertheless, I should still be happy... after all, we can always go home and they can come over!

Days 8 & 9 of reno: carpentry measurements and wardrobe

It's already the 2nd week of our renovation.. it's pretty fun how we get to choose so many stuff for our home! (: Yesterday, we had the carpentry measurements taken and the details confirmed. Hopefully, we can have all the carpentry work completed and reno completed for us to move in on the 26th! (:

Here's the sketch for our TV feature wall (: It'll be a good 6ft long! I like the idea of the suspended console (:

Here's the sketch for our kitchen.. We're having a L-shaped counter for the 'longer' wall and a tall unit for the 'shorter' side where the door is. I love the idea of our pull out tables! (:

On the shorter side, the pull-out table can be used when the door is closed, adding more table top area to the small kitchen.

On the longer side, there will also be a small pull-out table between the cooker and the basin.

We've also decided on our basin and tap..
Yay to a 1 bowl basin!

And a flexi tap! (: A only pity is the lack of hot water for this part of the kitchen...

In the second bedroom, which is also our study room, we'll be having a full length full height book shelf. It's almost like a dream come true. The top and bottom cabinets will have doors while the middle area will have clear class doors (:

Today, I met Luke from Closet Design in the evening. I wasn't well since morning but had to head out to meet him since we've made our appointment and that we're running on a tight timeline. Feeling nauseated for almost the entire day is a nasty feeling.

Anyway, our wardrobe is like a mini walk in wardrobe.. It's about 6.3ft long in the middle of our bedroom. It's gonna have black tinted bi-fold doors, allowing full access to the wardrobe easily.

The layout will be akin to this but the cubby hole and drawer portion would be in the middle while the top and bottom rack would be on the extreme right.. the wardrobe would also be suspended, allowing for easy cleaning.. and there would even be space on top for luggage bags!

I chose Latte for our wood as recommended by Luke.

They had plenty of colours for the glass door! We chose black tinted glass (:

I can't wait for the renovation to be completed. I've got to start making arrangements for our shift soon (:
