100 yen shop shopping in Tokyo

If you're like me.. and that you love Daiso, Tokyo has lots of 100 yen shops to offer! I had the luxury of visiting 3 Daisos and 2 other 100 yen shops this December.. I'm pleased to share with you what some of these lovely shops have to offer.

Images are valid as of Dec 2015. Of course, stocks change etc.. I can't assure you that you'd be able to find the exact same thing when you visit. But this guide with the addresses will help you plan your holiday should you choose to visit them!

To begin with, 100 yen was merely sgd$1.20 or so (sgd$1.30 with tax) when we visited in Dec 2015. I had lots of fun shopping! (: In general the 3 companies we visited were 1) Daiso, 2) Can-do and 3) Seria. I like all 3 100 yen shops in their own way. All of them do bill us shoppers for tax, making it 108 yen per item.. There are many other 100 yen shops but these are those that I have visited and I'm glad to share them with you!

Tokyo 2015 Day 10 - Panasonic Showroom and heading home

On Day 10, it was time to head home. We checked out at 10am and left our bags with the hotel.

It was a chilly morning and having piping hot udon was perfect.

We ate at a small shop around the train station.

At 480 yen, it was the best udon I've had in a long long time.

Tokyo 2015 Day 9 - Tokyo Skytree, Akihabara and Can-do Shinjuku

So... this was our bonus day. A day we weren't supposed to have if not for our flight delay! heh! We checked out of our room and left our luggage with the hotel cos we had to change a room.. the room we stayed for the past nights was taken..

We slept to our heart's content and headed to Tokyo Skytree. We started the day with a tray of Takoyaki!

Eastern Takoyaki meets Western Takoyaki!
We had Western and Eastern Takoyaki! The tako we usually eat is the Western version. The Eastern ones have lots of veggies in it.. the hubby liked it! I prefer the ones we're used to eating though!

Tokyo 2015 Day 8 - Harajuku and Meiji Shrine

Day 8 was specially kept for shopping.. We slept to our heart's content and headed out only around noon. The hubby has been busy trimming and packing his gundam and we had lots of the gundam runners left. We needed them packed by the housekeeping ladies so I left a note in Google Translate Japanese.

The husband thinks I should be dumped too XD

We took a train to Omotesando and strolled along their streets. It was an upscale street that had lots of shops selling branded goods.

Tokyo 2015 Day 7: Asakusa, Kappabashi and Shinjuku

After 2 long days at Disney, we woke up pretty late on Day 7. It was shopping day!

Cheap and good lunch!
We took a train to Asakusa station and checked out this outlet just along the main street where the train exit was for lunch.

My journey with replica food (Ganso Shokuhin Sample-ya Kits)

I love replica food. It's always fascinated me and I can stand outside displays and gawk for eons. The last time round we were in Tokyo I got 2 DIY kits from Ganso Shokuhin Sample-ya. I've been wanting to head back to buy them but I've not had the chance to do so. It's tough to trouble friends to get it for me when they visit Japan too. So this time round, I decided to get the entire set. So here's to recording my replica food kit journey!

My journey to creating awesome replica food using Ganso Shokuhin Sample-ya kits I got from Tokyo (: - Fried Rice -...

Tokyo 2015 Day 6: Disneyland

On Day 6, we headed back to Maihama and walked towards Disneyland. The walk via the bridge is comparatively shorter to the one to Disney Sea.

After the incident in Disney Sea, we left the park early. After a good night's rest, we headed to the park earlier. We had planned to be there 1/2 an hour early but we did get the timings confused (heh!) so we outside the park an hour before the park opened. The queue was fairly short!

It was cold but it was good! Of course, the excitement was building up! The 1st trick to any Disney parks is to be early. Being in the queue an hour before opening would be great.

Tokyo 2015 Day 5 - Disney Sea.. the day we lost our wallet

I love Disney. It's something bout it being really magical that makes me wanna visit over and over again. The last time we were in Tokyo, we were at Disneyland and Disney Sea too. It's always been a dream of mine to enjoy Disney during the Christmas season.. And this time round, my dream came true (:

We were really tired so we kinda woke up late on our day to Disney Sea. We took the train to Tokyo station where we changed to another train to get to Maihama station. The train stops between Disneyland and Disney Sea. There's a monorail that goes to both parks but it goes an entire loop towards the hotel etc before it gets to the parks so we walked to Disney Sea. That was a 800m walk in! We walked a lot in Tokyo. So be sure to put on comfortable shoes! We got in just when the park opened (the crowd has already surged in)..
We made our way to the Fast Pass Queue for the Toy Story ride..
